Cingoli

It is located at an altitude of 631 m, between the Musone and Potenza valleys. Vineyards, olive-groves, wine and olive oil production, breeding and industrial activity in clothing and packaging, mechanics (agricultural vehicles) and mining constitute the economy of the city. It is a well known- holiday destination, called “Le Marche’s Balcony”  for the wide and ample view. Notable are the Municipal Building of the XIII century, the Cathedral ( XVII century),  the San Domenico church with the “Madonna with the Rosary” by Lorenzo Lotto and the Sant’Esuperanzio Romanesque church with paintings from various periods including ‘the Flagellation’ by Sebastiano del Piombo.   It was the homeland of Pope Pio VIII.
