Civitanova Marche

It is located at an altitude of 155m, north of the mouth of the Chienti River. It is formed of Portocivitanova, town centre, and High Civitanova. It is an important fishing centre and tourist beach, with docks for motor trawlers. There are several shoe manufacturers with an annual footwear show in July. There is an engineering industry as well as the agricultural cultivation of fruits and vegetables. In Portocivitanova is situated the San Marone Romanesque church of IX century, completely restored.
