Sarnano

It is located at an altitude of 539m in the high Tennacola river valley (a tributary of the River Tenna) on a subapennine steep hill. It has thermal bathes (San Giacomo with cold, alkaline, radioactive water) and is a summer and winter holiday resort (Sasso Tetto, reachable with  cableway chair lift). There is the production of mineral water, cereals and meat. It has an important medieval centre, it has the lovely Santa Maria di Piazza church from the XIII century (with 15th century paintings and a beautiful crypt), the San Francesco church from the XIII-XIV centuries (with the Romanesque-Ogival doorway and inside the Madonna adoring the Child by di V.Crivelli), and Town Hall with its rich Library and  interesting picture gallery.
