Cagli
It is situated at 276m, on a spur of the Burano Mountain, near the convergence of the two torrents Bosso and Burano. The main agricultural crops are: cereals, fruits, vines and animal fodder. Particularly important is livestock-farming. The main industrial activities are the building trade, furniture manufacture and glassware. The most important handicraft activity is wrought iron working. The town, rebuilt in a chess-board urban development scheme, has typical medieval town features. The fine town hall of the XIV century was changed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini who also planned the fortress, of which only a big embattled tower remains (1481). There are two Romanesque churches of San Domenico and San Francesco with some Gothic elements. Finally the Roman Bridge and the remains of the medieval walls (Porta Massara) are of note.
