The cellar and the vineyards are located in the Marche region, specifically in the province of Macerata, within the boundaries of the town of Serrapetrona and at a stone's throw from the Monti Azzurri (praised by Giacomo Leopardi in the 19th century).

The peculiar traits of these lands, the altitude of 528 meters above sea level and the unique cycle of the seasons all shape the environment in which the Vernaccia Nera grows and thrives. An autochthonous grape variety, it is a niche product due to its low productivity, high quality and the very few vineyards that exist in the region.

Equipped with modern architecture and innovative machinery, the cellar boasts its own "APPASSIMENTO " room (responsible for drying the grapes of each harvest), coupled with the specific areas for winemaking and ageing. Also known as the “fruttaio”, it represents a fundamental stage in the production of our wines, both for its air ventilation system and for the high quantity and quality of grapes that undergo this drying.

Historical sources, especially documents dating from the 19th century discovered in the library of Baron Spitalieri, define the Vernaccia Nera as the best red grape variety cultivated in the Marche region. Due to this reason, experiencing the still version of the Vernaccia Nera is equal to discovering ancient traditions and aknowledging the uniqueness of this land.

Steep hillsides, high altitude and morphological characteristics show the strong determination of this  grape variety, as tough as the men who cultivate it.

It is for this reason that the Vernaccia Nera has an unbreakable bond with the soil on which it grows, a unique characteristic that is rarely found across the world.

Each with their own marked identity, Sommo, Robbione and Collequanto are the fullest expression of the Serrapetrona DOC, made from Vernaccia Nera.

After resting in the wooden barrels, further improvements are added to the wine by ageing in the bottle, a step in production that can last for numerous years.
